Disney Princess

 

The Disney Princess franchise was created to showcase Disney's strongest female characters in a way that's feminist and empowering for young girls. Most of the characters are royalty, but there's some exceptions such as Mulan, who is a great role model and thus is in the franchise.

In the infancy of The Disney Princess franchise, most royal Disney ladies were considered Disney Princesses. This includes Kiara from The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride as a story of her was featured in the 2000 book Disney's Princess Collection Love & Friendship Stories

There some Lion King characters who could be considered Disney Princess' due to their royal status:

Sarabi (Queen of The Pride Lands after marriage to Mufasa)

Nala (Queen of The Pride Lands after marriage to Simba)

Kiara (Daughter of Simba and Nala and heir to Pride Lands Throne)

Rani (Queen of The Tree of Life and married to Simba's Son Kion)

Zira (Leads her own Pride, and if she was Scar's mate when he was king, she would've been queen)

Vitani (Daughter of Zira and possibly Scar. She is also the sister to the current king Kovu and the sister in law to the current queen Kiara.)
